The candidate will join a recently granted Horizon Europe project named “BIOSECURE” which aims to improve the capacity for key actors and decision-makers in livestock farming on biosecurity. This exciting project, coordinated by Ghent University, is composed of an inter disciplinary team representing universities, SMEs, research centers, and government agencies, which will provide interesting opportunities for interaction.
The post-doc will develop quantitative risk assessment models to quantify the probability of introduction of pathogens in ruminants, pigs and poultry farms. These models will provide farm-specific probabilities of pathogens introduction, allowing to estimate the effect of external biosecurity measures for a range of diseases/production systems and they will be used to prioritise which biosecurity measures should be implemented or improved to reduce the probability of introduction of pathogens at the farm, in different field studies.
We are seeking for a candidate with interest in biosecurity, quantitative risk assessment and animal health and with knowledge in using R.
The post-doc should begin in January 2023 and will be located at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) for a period of three years. Salary will be of 45000 euros per year (around 2300 net euros per month after excluding taxes).
A good English level is required. It is not necessary to have knowledge of Spanish language.
Interested candidates, please send a letter of motivation and CV to Alberto Allepuz (alberto.allepuz@uab.cat) before September 30th.
